London’s Largest Open Access Fine Art Print Studio

Opening September 2011

Second Floor Studios & Arts will be opening a new fully equipped open access fine art print studio this coming September as part of its ongoing artists’ and craft and designer maker studio space development. Housed at the front of Unit 4 (Print Building) on the SFSA Woolwich site next to the Thames Barrier, and covering a zoned floor space of approximately 5000 sqft. the print studio will be one of the largest facilities of its kind in London.

The new print studio will accommodate fine art and textile silkscreen printing, etching, relief and digital.

– 4 x etching presses – to work in a variety of plate sizes up to Double Elephant
– 1x relief press
– 5/6 x letterpresses
– 2 x book presses
– 4/5 screenprint vacuum tables – a variety of screen sizes available up to 145x206cm
– 1 x 9m textile table
– 1 x 6 arm t-shirt carousel

Aquatint room, acid room, exposure, paper soaking room, washout and screen dry/store rooms, imacs for developing work and wifi.

Large format digital printer to edition digital prints and produce films for photoscreenprint/photoetching.

Plenty of plan chests and lockable cupboard storage.
